ABOUT THIS COFFEE
Coffee doesn’t need to be wildly exotic, fruity, and acidic in order to be good. The good in coffee can be in what we do with it – at the farm level, taking care to process the coffee in such a way that it imparts the most sweetness possible, and at the roast level, crafting a roast to bring out that sweetness, complexity, and balance and ultimately creating a cup that brings us a sense of warmth and comfort. Coffees can also be intrinsically good – ones whose purchase supports the livelihood of the farmers and communities that produce them, ones who come from farms that pay their workers nearly 4x the wages of workers in neighboring countries (plus benefits) so that they can earn financial freedom and escape the poverty so common in our industry. This is one of those coffees. This is a coffee that is good not only because it tastes good, but because it IS good.
